Privacy Policy.

What I collect, why I keep it, and how to make me forget it.

This policy covers kcatherinewest.com and the K. Catherine West newsletter. The short version: I collect only what you type into a form, I use it only for what that form says, and I never sell or share it.

  1. What I collect

    • Sign-up forms (The List, Pre-Order and Bonus Content): your first name, last name and email address.
    • Reader team applications (Alpha, Beta, ARC and Street Team): your name, email and the answers you give, such as the formats you read in or the platforms you review on.
    • The contact form: your name, email, the subject you choose and your message.

    This site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies, and it doesn't follow you around other websites.

  2. How I use it

    • To send the newsletter and whatever you signed up for: bonus scenes, first chapters, cover reveals and release news.
    • To review reader team applications and get in touch with the readers who join.
    • To answer your messages.

    That's all. I don't sell, rent or trade your details, and I don't hand them to other authors or publishers.

  3. Where it's kept

    Form answers go to my own email system (Mautic), which runs on my own server, and a copy of each form arrives in my author inbox at hello@kcatherinewest.com.

    The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running. Your IP address is also checked briefly when you send a form, to stop spam.

  4. Emails

    My emails may record whether they're opened and which links are clicked, so I know what readers want more of. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list.

  5. How long I keep it

    I keep your details while you're on the list or on a reader team. If you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them, I remove them, apart from the bare minimum needed to make sure you aren't emailed again.

  6. Your choices

    You can ask to see the details I hold about you, correct them, or have them deleted at any time. Email hello@kcatherinewest.com and I'll take care of it within 30 days.

  7. Age

    This site and its books are for adults. I don't knowingly collect details from anyone under 18.

  8. Changes

    If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date at the top. Before the shop opens, this page will be updated to explain how payments are handled.
